Litecoin (LTC) continues to rise, displacing EOS once again to reclaim the number four spot on CoinMarketCap. LTC traded at around $57.30 as of 7:00 UTC on Friday on volumes of over $2.2 billion.
LTC peaked at $59 on March 7, managing to keep up the price levels despite expectations of a correction. The price settled around 0.014 BTC as the asset gains ground on the leading crypto coin.
The current rally rekindled expectations that LTC may return to triple-digit prices. With Bitcoin stagnating, some top altcoins are benefitting. LTC has more than doubled its value in the past quarter from the lows in December 2018. It managed to transform from an asset seen as doomed into another actively growing coin. Supporters noted it was better-established than some of the largest and most prominent Bitcoin hard forks.
