Pascal Gauthier, der CEO und Vorsitzende des Hardware-Wallet-Herstellers Ledger, hat bekanntgegeben, dass das Unternehmen sein Personal um 12 % reduzieren wird.
In einem Blog-Beitrag vom 5. Oktober kündigte Gauthier entsprechend an, dass die Entscheidung zum Personalabbau „für die Nachhaltigkeit des Unternehmens“ getroffen wurde, und verwies in diesem Kontext auf den Bärenmarkt von 2022 und den Zusammenbruch von einflussreichen Firmen wie FTX und Voyager Digital. Basierend auf Daten von LinkedIn hatte Ledger zum Zeitpunkt der Veröffentlichung rund 734 Mitarbeiter, was bedeutet, dass etwa 88 Personen ihren Arbeitsplatz verloren haben könnten.
„Die gesamtwirtschaftliche Schieflage schränkt unsere Fähigkeit ein, Einnahmen zu generieren, und als Reaktion auf die aktuellen Marktbedingungen und die geschäftlichen Realitäten müssen wir im gesamten Unternehmen Stellen abbauen“, so der CEO. Und weiter: „Leider bedeutet dies, dass wir die schwierige Entscheidung treffen müssen, 12 % der Stellen bei Ledger zu streichen.“
