Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has added three new alt-coins to its currency exchange calculator. The prices of Litecoin (LTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) are now displayed in the currency exchange calculator widget the search engine provides.

Finding the prices of Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash is as easy as typing LTC and BCH. However, for Ethereum, users will have to navigate to the currency exchange page and select ETH from a drop-down menu, and then select a fiat currency (or one of the three crypto-coins) to which the price should be converted. Previously, Google listed only the price of Bitcoin. With this change, the search engine now displays 4 of the top 7 most popular alt-coins.

This seems to mark a shift in Google’s attitude towards alt-coins. In March, the most popular search engine followed Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) in issuing a blanket ban on all adds related to cryptocurrencies, including crypto exchanges and Initial Coin Offerings. According to Reuters, Google removed over 3 billion ads that violated the ban. Popular regulated crypto exchanges such as Coinbase had to be white-listed by the search engine.

In April, Google also cracked down on mining extensions from its in-house Chrome browser and removed such extensions from the Chrome Web Store while citing a failure to ‘comply with Google’s policies’ as the reason.

However, it seems that recently the Internet giant softened its hardline approach, with founder Sergey Brin going as far as admitting Google missed out on being ‘on the bleeding edge’ of crypto technology. Google’s shift in attitude comes after numerous traditional financial institutions displayed interest in the crypto market, with JP Morgan going as far as appointing a new, crypto-friendly CEO.

Still, Google is shying from publicity, as there was no official announcement on the inclusion of Litecoin, Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash into Google’s currency calculator. It is also unknown if Google is considering the inclusion of other alt-coins to its currency exchange calculator.
