South Korean prosecutors have informed the public that they believe Do Kwon, the fallen CEO of the collapsed Terraform labs, had fled to Serbia last month and is perhaps still hiding there. However, the investigative team in South Korea is unclear if Kwon is still in Serbia or not.
Recently, it was speculated that the former golden boy of crypto was in Dubai, a city widely recognized as a crypto hub. Members of the community believe that it is from here that Kwon left to Serbia. Earlier in September, Interpol had released a Red notice for his arrest. Red Notices are often enacted to locate criminals who are at large.
However, in an interview with crypto journalist Laura Shin, Kwon called the news baseless and argued: “How Red Notices work is something that I don’t really understand very well. But we haven’t heard anything back yet [from Interpol]. There is an appeals process… So we’ll do everything that we can to make clarification to make sure this comes to a better result.”
