Crypto world is a fascinating field on the verge of the economy and cutting-edge technologies. And when I mention this epithet, I mean “so interesting as entertaining”. Not always, of course. Our Flipsider will make a grumpy face after this statement. But somewhere deep inside, he’ll agree.

Imperator of Coins?

A coin can have a talented team of developers, strong dedicated community and top-notch flabbergasting concepts underpinning the entire project. However, several tweets of Elon Musk made the internet community buying Dogecoin like hotcakes.

Just imagine the sentiments of creators of Polkadot, Chainlink, or VeChain when DOGE surpassed them by total market capitalisation numbers. This raises a question: “bread and circuses” or “slow and steady wins the race?”

All right, no man is an island as no dog is a pack of wolves. Dogecoin was created as a joke, but now more and more people claim that it’s no longer a prank. Serious people invest in it, as well as a lot of websites already allowed buying with DOGE.

Yes, it’s right, but no such luck anymore. Please, welcome copydogs: PotCoin, TrumpCoin, Pandacoin, PooCoin, and even ShitCoin.

[Thunder] It’s Alive. It’s Alive!

As the original, the copydogs were born as jokes. For example, PotCoin (POT) was supposed to represent the cannabis community and dedicated to Dennis Rodman’s trip to North Korea. It even reached the price of $0.50 at the time of its hype.

TrumpCoin (TRUMP) was intended to support the former US President vision of the future. In 2018, it reached incredible amount of $0.76 per one unit. However, after this never “was great again.”

Pandacoin (PND) tried to play with memes as well as DOGE, however this idea failed. Probably, Elon Musk likes dogs more than pandas.

The newest trend of copydogs shifted the focus from cute creatures and hype topics to… something different. For example, there is PooCoin (POOCOIN) with quite an active Reddit community. On the other hand, there is ShitCoin (SHIT) that is doing not so good as its “blood brother.”

Real Purpose of Jester

In each royal household, there was a fool for creation of the good mood and atmosphere in a palace. Usually, only they were allowed to make fun of a king and other senior personnel. They used irony, sarcasm, and other artistic instrument to satirize the truth that nobody was able to say out loud.

The copydogs are jokers. They are not intended to “reach the moon” but they tell us the truth. Jokecoins are indicators of how ambiguous, controversial, and ambivalent the crypto world is now. As we mentioned in one of our newest articles, crypto might be only for people who have no fear.

On the Flipside

  • Don’t forget that there are many serious projects with their dedicated communities, like Polkadot or Cardano. They take the strategy “slow and steady wins the race.” They are ambitious and improve the blockchain with each update.
  • Of course, the first reaction of newbies in the field looking at Dogecoin will be FOMO (fear of missing out). What’s why we always warn not to rush and make reckless decisions.
  • Although, it’s funny
