Canada-based crypto exchange Coinsquare announced on Monday the launch of a new branch called Coin Capital Investment Management Inc (Coincapital). The subsidiary has been registered with the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) as an exempt market dealer, portfolio manager, and investment fund manager. The new branch will provide users with a variety of investment services revolving around blockchain, cryptocurrencies, artificial intelligence (AI), and other innovative technologies.

Coincapital CEO Lewis Bateman commented:

“There is a strong appetite for investors to access growth in the technology sector, but not enough specialized or niche offerings available to them.”

“We are at a critical inflection point in the technology sector and Coincapital is perfectly positioned, given its relationship to Coinsquare and deep sector expertise, to take advantage of the next phase of industry growth,” he added.

Coincapital has already partnered with Deutsche Boerse (DE:DB1Gn) Group’s index provider STOXX as it plans to develop two indices. One of the indices will cover AI and other innovative technologies while the other will focus on blockchain. Thus, iSTOXX Developed Markets B.R.AI.N. Index, launched on July 26, 2018, is tracking companies operating in AI, robotics, biotech, and nanotechnology. The second index – STOXX Yewno Developed Markets Blockchain Index, is focused on the distributed ledger technology (DLT) and applies AI algorithms to find blockchain-oriented companies.

Coinsquare CEO Cole Diamond said:

“With the launch of Coincapital, we will leverage our knowledge of the emerging technology sector to provide an excellent investment opportunity for Canadians across a wide range of high growth assets.”

Recently, Coinsquare announced the launch of another subsidiary – Coinsquare Licensing, which will allow domestic and foreign companies to provide cryptocurrency trading services based on Coinsquare's technology. The launch involved a partnership with blockchain investment bank DLTα 21. The two entities plan to open a crypto trading platform in Japan.

Coinsquare is one of the largest crypto exchanges in Canada. It provides trading solutions for Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dash, and Doge.
