American rapper, songwriter and producer Chuck Inglish (Evan Ingersoll) received his first payment, amounting to $8,272, from the world’s first blockchain-powered music marketplace Vezt, the company said in a statement.
The completion of the payment underscores the effectiveness of the platform for songwriters and artists to offer their fans a royalty interest for their songs using blockchain technology. In particular, Inglish was paid for the rights for "Wear My Hat," and "Gees," which were recorded by artist Mac Miller.
Inglish made the earnings after more than 100 of his fans contributed the money in exchange for sharing a part of the royalty stream to be generated from the songs.
