  • Former MEP calls BTC the ultimate freedom as the government has no control over it.
  • He shared his views on BTC during the Bitcoin Amsterdam Conference.
  • Farage thinks that world leaders considering CBDCs might take away people’s freedom.

Former European Parliament member Nigel Farage shared his views on Bitcoin (BTC) at the Bitcoin Amsterdam Conference. According to Farage, any new idea is automatically opposed by the government.

Notably, there has been a remarkable increase in polarization regarding cryptocurrency assets, including Bitcoin, as the cryptocurrency sector grows.

During an interview streamed on October 13 at the Bitcoin Amsterdam Conference, British broadcaster and former politician Nigel Farage explained all the advantages Bitcoin has from his point of view.

Farage titles Bitcoin an “economic insurgency”, and adds:

It is led by people who are worried about the sheer size of big government and they want to be free, independent, masters of their own destiny, so for me, it’s a perfectly natural place to be.

Due to the similarities between his past experience in supporting cryptocurrency and the Bitcoin movement today, Farage concluded that the BTC movement was “a natural place for him to be.”

As Farage began discussing liberties and freedom, he continued to draw parallels between his past leading the Brexit movement and today’s burgeoning technology. According to Farage, the fact that bureaucrats are the ones steering the EU boat doesn’t create a pretty picture of the union in his mind, especially with regard to the EU Commission and its relationship with lawmakers.

Concurrently, it is probably the lack of understanding that causes so many world leaders to consider CBDCs, which he described as one of the biggest fears he has since he believes the concept could take away people’s financial freedom.
