Boeing (NYSE:BA), the world’s largest aerospace company, announced it has teamed up with the artificial intelligence company SparkCognition to develop AI and blockchain-based solutions for tracking of unmanned air crafts and air traffic control.
The two companies will work together and use artificial intelligence and blockchain to create solutions for tracking of drones and traffic management. They also plan to provide a standardized programming interface for solutions for package delivery, industrial inspection and other commercial applications.
Additionally, Boeing is setting up a new organization – Boeing NeXt that will leverage the company’s research and development activities in autonomous flights and advanced propulsion.

Previously Boeing’s HorizonX Ventures has participated in a SparkCognition $32 million funding round led by Verizon Ventures for the development of a cognitive, data-driven analytics platform for the safety, security and reliability of data technology.
SparkCognition is based in Texas and is specializing in cognitive computing analytics, developing AI-powered asset-protection software for the safety, security, and reliability of information technology. Among its clients are Fortune 100 companies who use its solutions for complex data analysis, decision making and transformation of productivity.
Boeing is one of the most recognizable names in the aerospace industry, mainly known for the production of passenger and cargo jets, military and space and security systems.
