US-based financial services and cryptocurrency wallet and custodian service provider BitGo is joining a universal protocol alliance that seeks to allow all crypto coins to be accessible on a single network through the introduction of universal tokens.
In a statement, BitGo said it formally joined the Universal Protocol Platform, developed by UP Alliance, a group of blockchain pioneers that seeks to provide the important element to help create the next 100 million cryptocurrency users. The group was founded by Brave, Blockchain at Berkeley, Cred, FBG Capital, and Uphold.
BitGo CEO Mike Belshe commented, “We are pleased to support a standard that can help the crypto community to move forward, solving interoperability and crypto asset protection issues.”
