Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Software & Computers, Pharma & Bio-technology and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.22% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were DIeteren SA (BR:IETB), which rose 3.00% or 0.945 points to trade at 32.470 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB (BR:UCB) added 1.70% or 1.41 points to end at 84.52 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was up 1.58% or 1.70 points to 109.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which fell 10.00% or 0.76 points to trade at 6.81 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) declined 1.23% or 0.39 points to end at 31.27 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was down 0.85% or 0.85 points to 98.85.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 95 to 61 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in UCB (BR:UCB) rose to all time highs; rising 1.70% or 1.41 to 84.52.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.64% or 6.80 to $1063.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.56% or 0.65 to hit $42.36 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.84% or 0.38 to trade at $45.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.0561, while EUR/GBP fell 0.36% to 0.7020.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 100.30.
