US. Brent crude down on economy woes, higher dollar

NEW YORK, Aug 2 (Reuters) - U.S. and Brent crude futures fell back in choppy trading on Tuesday on economic worries reflected in losses on Wall Street, and as the dollar rose, encouraging investors to buy riskier assets.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, crude for September delivery was down 72 cents or 0.74 percent, to $94.17 a barrel by 11:25 a.m. EDT (1525 GMT), having traded earlier between $93.75 and $95.68.

In London, ICE Brent for September delivery was down 12 cents, or 0.1 percent at $116.89 a barrel, after trading in the range of $115.53 to $118.40. (Reporting by Gene Ramos)
