NEW YORK, Sept 1 (Reuters) - U.S. crude oil futures rose more than $1 a barrel to a four-week high on Thursday as oil companies have started shutting in production or evacuating personnel in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico due to the threat of a tropical cyclone in the area in the next 48 hours.
