Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Telecoms and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 2.01%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which rose 17.46% or 3.0100 points to trade at 20.2500 at the close. Meanwhile, UBI Banca (MI:UBI) added 5.81% or 0.1160 points to end at 2.1120 and Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII) was up 5.41% or 0.192 points to 3.742 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tenaris (MI:TENR), which fell 1.46% or 0.21 points to trade at 14.14 at the close. Saipem (MI:SPMI) declined 1.02% or 0.0040 points to end at 0.3869 and Brembo (MI:BRBI) was down 0.37% or 0.20 points to 53.75.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 263 to 148 and 12 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 3.87% or 1.82 to $45.26 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 3.64% or 1.79 to hit $47.42 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.40% or 4.80 to trade at $1186.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.0625, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.8506.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.05% at 101.16.
