PERTH, Nov 16 (Reuters) - Global miner BHP Billiton sees itself well-positioned to take advantage of supply shortfalls in key markets as rivals slowed expansion projects during the global financial crisis, Chief Executive Marius Kloppers said on Tuesday.
"As a result, the overall supply-demand conditions are favourable to us," he said at the group's annual meeting in Australia.
He reiterated that the company remains committed to developing its massive Jansen potash project in Canada, following the failure of the company's $39 billion bid for the world's top fertiliser maker, Potash Corp. (Reporting by Sonali Paul and Rebekah Kebede)
