Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemicals, Travel and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 9.38% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.140 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) added 4.09% or 0.021 points to end at 0.535 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) was up 3.88% or 0.200 points to 5.350 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH), which fell 5.63% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.340 at the close. Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) declined 5.52% or 0.009 points to end at 0.155 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) was down 5.26% or 0.01 points to 0.18.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 47 to 46 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.21% or 2.65 to $1269.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.14% or 0.56 to hit $49.74 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.16% or 0.58 to trade at $50.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.0918, while EUR/GBP rose 0.62% to 0.8962.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 98.73.
