Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Retail and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 2.91%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Iaso (AT:IASr), which rose 26.08% or 0.103 points to trade at 0.498 at the close. Meanwhile, Frigoglass (AT:FRIr) added 14.01% or 0.09 points to end at 0.76 and Corinth Pipe (AT:CORr) was up 12.06% or 0.092 points to 0.855 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hellenic Telec (AT:OTEr), which fell 1.91% or 0.15 points to trade at 7.69 at the close. Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT:OPAr) declined 1.53% or 0.100 points to end at 6.450 and Bank of Cyprus PCL (AT:BOCr) was down 0.69% or 0.001 points to 0.144.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 69 to 29 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was up 1.22% or 15.20 to $1257.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.04% or 0.36 to hit $35.02 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.51% or 0.19 to trade at $37.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.64% to 1.0939, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.7731.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.50% at 97.71.
