WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Afghanistan's overall security has deteriorated in the second half of 2015, with insurgents staging more effective attacks and Afghan forces suffered more casualties, the Pentagon said in a sweeping report to Congress released on Tuesday.
"(Afghan security forces') performance over the entire fighting season and the last six months has been uneven and mixed," the report said, noting a 27 percent increase in casualties from Jan. 1 to Nov. 15 against the same period in 2014.
