Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Pharma & Bio-technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which rose 11.43% or 0.73 points to trade at 7.17 at the close. Meanwhile, DIeteren SA (BR:IETB) added 0.20% or 0.060 points to end at 30.800 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was up 0.17% or 0.04 points to 23.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which fell 1.52% or 0.70 points to trade at 45.30 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) declined 1.17% or 0.38 points to end at 31.68 and Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) was down 1.06% or 0.98 points to 91.17.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 86 to 66 and 6 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.13% or 1.40 to $1067.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.81% or 0.33 to hit $40.34 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.13% or 0.06 to trade at $43.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.0637, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.6992.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 99.82.
