Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Energy and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.98%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which rose 5.69% or 2.95 points to trade at 54.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Synthos SA (WA:SNS) added 4.09% or 0.18 points to end at 4.58 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was up 2.87% or 5.00 points to 179.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which fell 4.37% or 3.23 points to trade at 70.60 at the close. Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) declined 3.88% or 13.25 points to end at 328.00 and Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) was down 3.63% or 1.09 points to 28.91.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 277 to 261 and 105 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.98% or 1.77 to $57.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.47% or 0.94 to hit $62.66 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.23% or 2.70 to trade at $1169.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.04% to 4.1897, while USD/PLN rose 0.56% to 3.7833.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.58% at 96.31.
