TOKYO, Sept 6 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average rose 0.9 percent on Monday, rising for a fourth day after data showing fewer-than-expected U.S. job losses bolstered optimism that the economy would not fall back into recession.
The benchmark Nikkei gained 85.86 points to 9,199.99. It rose 0.6 percent on Friday and added 1.4 percent last week for its biggest weekly gain in nearly two months.
The broader Topix rose 0.7 percent to 829.48. (Reporting by Aiko Hayashi; Editing by Michael Watson)
