Investing.com – The number of U.S. workers filing for unemployment benefits exceeded forecasts last week, official data showed on Thursday.
In a report, the U.S. Department of Labor said the seasonally adjusted number of initial jobless claims for the week was 456,000, down from the previous week’s figure of 459,000, which was revised up from 453,000.
Economists had expected the figure to come in at 447,000.
Following the release of the data, the U.S. was down against the euro, with EUR/USD gaining 0.45% to hit 1.2032.
