This is all BEFORE rates are raised, can you imagine what will happen when the fed actually has to raise rates (or face economy-destroying inflation)? The risk-free rate will increase which decreases the value of stocks, the cost to borrow to invest will go up and loans will be less available reducing the amount of cash going into markets, and margins may even be called on existing loans forcing holders to sell and setting off a domino effect. On top of that the fed will sell off some of its investments (its assets doubles over two years) which will further tank the market. This is all at the same time as the bubble bursts from some of the most overinflated values ever seen. The fed should have spent the last few years raising rates to provide a slowing to markets and avoid a crash, then they could raise rates to get it going again. Instead they did all kinds of unprecedented short-term measures that will only make the crash worse since they've already used all their tools.
It has all got a bit silly hasnt it, multiple meltups on top of hyper bubbles. Remember when DOW rallied 2000 points in teh China deal ! We never actually got that deal in any meaningful way, but none of that rally was given back to the markets. Every unjustified rally gave nothing back, so here we are at 36k , comically overvalued.
