Up we go...
uhh mr Bessent its going the wrong way...
How low does it go?
Lol
Long TLT @ 89.48.
Indices down around 10% over 2 days, while the TLT remains generally flat considering the significant selloff. This is not capitulation.
The counter trend rally in bonds and notes may soon come to an end. With the stock indices going into a bear market investors are using this as a safe haven, but this will not be safe at all.

How is that the dividend is decreasing month to month?
It paid $0.325 vs $0.289. This holds various longer-dated maturities. Remember too, Feb only had 28 days. March just completed had 31.
March's distribution was the highest in years!
TLT $91.03 +0.99% at 03/31/25 Close!

Crim Jamer ... Gotcha... As a note. Futures and options (derivatives) were created as risk management tools. Use them to hedge a long in the underlying. These bond etfs, just use the SEC yield to better grasp what a fixed income investor is buying, which is yield. A good exercise is to buy $10k. If you get +5%, sell $9,500, hold $500. Then look for re-entry on pullback with the $9,500. One can always park the $9,500 in BIL, or money market funds while waiting.
Bought back again, dipped further.
sold before the open on the pullback, but reversed immediately, and went up more in a hour than the 2 days i held.
TLT $88.43 +0.31% at Close! 2/6/24 dividend will be $0.3122

Banks are keeping it here so people coming out of CD's can be put at the long end of the curve over the next few months without loosening financial conditions. The 10 yr will stay where it is until they have more information re tariffs and spending & fate of powell ... yoy pce MOM is only 0.1% ex food and gas so FOMC is failing to do their job in a forward looking way. The banks have taken on the job themselves.
New 52 week low
