It is co-managed by BlackRock Institutional Trust Company, N.A. The fund invests in the fixed income markets of the United States. It invests directly, through derivatives and through other funds, in securities. The fund invests in U.S. dollar denominated, below investment grade, fixed-rate, corporate bonds that have a maturity of at least one year and are rated Ba1 or below by Moody's or BB+ or below by S&P or Fitch. It uses derivatives such as currency forwards to hedge any currency exposure back to the CAD. The fund replicates the performance of the Bloomberg Barclays US High Yield Very Liquid Index, by investing in securities as per their weightings in the index. iShares U.S. High Yield Fixed Income Index ETF (CAD-Hedged) was formed on January 11, 2010 and is domiciled in Canada.
