The article aims to provide price forecasts for commodity futures for April 15, 2016. The table below shows the weekly commodity futures contracts in US dollars over the period from March 11, 2016 to April 8, 2016 (commodity exchanges data) and forecasted period - April 15, 2016 (author’s calculations). The commodities are classified and placed in alphabetical order. The commodity metrics and names of exchanges are provided.
Forecasted values: increase in green; decrease in red. Forecasts are projected with an Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model based on weekly historical data starting April 1990 with a minimum of 312 observations. As one can notice, the forecasted values are mainly close to the values as of April 8, 2016. So, they will unlikely show the target prices. However, one can use them for identifying the short-term price trends over the period. Also, one can find that the energy group is expected to go up, except Brent crude futures. Moreover, gasoline can rise to $1.49 (1.98%).
It is worth to note that the grains group is expected to go down, except Canola futures.
