Eurozone ministers of finance will not continue negotiations with the Greek government if it does not request a rescue extension of the current financial support program. Greece has until the weekend to make a decision, and if it refuses to comply with the European plan of reform and cuts, it will probably be shown the door. Despite all this, the euro is currently up a few points against the greenback this morning. As for the loonie, it is also recording gains against the U.S. dollar.
At 8:30 a.m., we will have Canada's International Transactions in Securities, slated to come in at $4.29 billion, proving that Canadian assets remain coveted by investors. Also at 8:30 a.m., but on the U.S. side, we will have Empire Manufacturing Index figures. Lastly, at 4 p.m. this afternoon we will have U.S. Net Long-Term TIC (Treasury International Capital) Flows. Have a great day!
