One of the reasons for the extremely low price for sugar is the devaluation of the Brazilian real. Brazil is the largest producer of sugar and the largest exporter. Fundamentally, sugar is trading way below the cost of production, and at extremely low prices. Based on the recent history of sugar, it should bounce back up from the 10 cents a pound price. The biggest drawdown I would expect is down to 8 cents.
