This morning, the S&P 500 Index e-mini futures (ES-H3) are trading lower by 1.25 points to $1548.25 per contract. Traders and investors do not seem to be diving into the markets so strongly before the opening bell. Earlier, there was some economic news out of Europe, this is not causing all that much of a stir, however most of the European markets are trading slightly lower this morning. Traders should watch for some volatility in the European financial stocks. Leading financial equities such as Deutsche Bank AG (USA)(DB), UBS AG (USA) (UBS), Credit Suisse Group AG (ADR) (CS), and the Ishares MSCI Europe Financials Sector Index Fund (EUFN) could be all weak to start the day.
This coming Friday will be the monthly options expiration for the month of March. Traders should expect a lot of volatility this week leading up to the actual expiration day. At the end of the week, contracts on futures will also rollover from the March (H) contract to the June (M) contract.
