Before diving into this week’s top stories, the hosts took some time to have a little fun with a relatively absurd report involving Chipotle (NYSE:CMG) . You may have seen the video that has gone semi-viral, but apparently, just days after an alleged norovirus outbreak in a D.C.-area restaurant, there were reports of “rodents falling from the ceiling” in a Dallas-area store.

Next, Maddy and Ryan discussed the latest in the desperate survival of Sears (NASDAQ:SHLD) . This week, the struggling retailer received a new line of credit from CEO Eddie Lampert’s hedge fund, and the company announced that it would begin selling its Kenmore appliances on Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) .

The hosts also jumped into Q2 earnings season, starting with video streaming giant Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) . Interestingly, Netflix posted a rare earnings miss, but the stock soared on the back of better-than-expected subscriber numbers. Also, Maddy and Ryan covered the latest results from United (NYSE:UAL) , an airliner that has dominated the news for all the wrong reasons. Nevertheless, United was able to post a solid earnings beat.

Finally, the hosts covered Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) and its incredible quarter, which saw the software giant post a massive earnings beat thanks to strong cloud growth. Maddy and Ryan discussed what went right for the company, including its continued success with Azure and LinkedIn (NYSE:LNKD).

Will You Make a Fortune on the Shift to Electric Cars?

Here's another stock idea to consider. Much like petroleum 150 years ago, lithium power may soon shake the world, creating millionaires and reshaping geo-politics. Soon electric vehicles (EVs) may be cheaper than gas guzzlers. Some are already reaching 265 miles on a single charge.

With battery prices plummeting and charging stations set to multiply, one company stands out as the #1 stock to buy according to Zacks research. It's not the one you think. See This Ticker Free >>
