Wandisco Plc. (LON:WAND) has announced a partnership with Neudesic, a systems integrator (SI) specialising in enterprise cloud solutions. Like the Databricks tie-up announced earlier this week, this partnership will focus on accelerating the migration of on-premise Hadoop analytics platforms to the cloud. No financial details are provided but our previous analysis highlights the potential opportunity in Hadoop and data migration.
Neudesic is an SI and consultancy company specialising in helping enterprise customers architect cloud-based solutions. It is one of Databricks’ top partners and bases many of its implementations on Microsoft’s Azure platform. The partnership will use WANdisco’s Live Migrator solution to help customers migrate their data at scale to hybrid cloud solutions. Live Migrator enables migration in a single scan without application blocking.
No financial details are provided but as our analysis of Hadoop and the broader market highlights (see WANdisco announces Databricks partnership and Accelerating the customer cloud journey), we believe data migration could be a significant opportunity for WANdisco. The company recently set out an ambition to generate at least $50m cumulatively from data migration in the medium term.
WANdisco’s series of partnership announcements this week highlights the growing importance of its technology in the cloud ecosystem but ultimately the value to investors is only likely to become apparent over time in commercial deals. The company’s next challenge is demonstrating it can translate its strategic progress into improving financial performance. Interim results are expected in September.
