This morning, the S&P 500 Index e-mini futures (ES-M3) are trading lower by 7.50 points to 1646.00 per contract. It seems that traders and investors are fleeing the stocks market as Nikkei futures (Japanese stock market) drop by nearly 2.0 percent. It is very important to note that today is Friday, often during a Friday trading session the major stock indexes will get supported by the close. In other words, rarely does the stock market close down sharply on a Friday. The Federal Reserve also has a rather large POMO scheduled for today, this will usually be the catalyst that supports the stock markets.
Last night, the Asian stock indexes were mixed by the end of the session. The big loser in Asia was the Bombay Sensex Index (India) finishing lower by 2.25 percent. This tells us that the leading Indian ADR's could be under pressure today. Some leading Indian stocks that could be volatile today include Tata Motors Ltd. (ADR) (TTM), Infosys Ltd. (ADR) (INFY), Wipro Ltd. (ADR) (WIT), and the India Fund Inc (IFN).
