BlackRock High Yield Bond Portfolio Investor A Shares BHYAX aims to maximize total return, consistent with income generation and prudent investment management. BHYAX invests primarily in non-investment grade bonds with maturities of 10 years or less. It normally invests at least 80% of its assets in high yield bonds. BHYAX has returned 6.2% in the past three years.

James Keenan is one of the fund managers of BHYAX since 2007.

BlackRock High Yield Bond Portfolio Investor A Shares BMGAX aims for long-term capital appreciation. This aggressive growth fund invests primarily in common stocks of 25 to 45 companies that the fund management believes have strong earnings and revenue growth as well as capital appreciation potential. The fund invests the lion’s share of its assets in large-cap equity securities and derivatives having similar economic characteristics to such securities. BMGAX has returned 25.5% in the past three years.

As of the end of July 2021, BMGAX held 72 issues, with 3.40% of its assets invested in MSCI Inc.

BlackRock Large Cap Focus Growth Fund Investor A Shares MDFOX aims for capital appreciation over the long term. The fund invests majority of assets in equity securities of mid-cap U.S. companies, which the fund’s management believes would have more-than-average earnings growth potential. The fund mostly invests in common stocks, preferred stocks, convertible securities and other equity securities. MDFOX has returned 24.8% in the past three years.

MDFOX has an expense ratio of 0.92% compared with the category average of 0.99%.
