Today is the day voters will take to the polls across 12 states to choose the presidential candidate for their respective party. On the Republicans side, there is only senator and candidate Ted Cruz’s state of Texas that could prove a challenge for Trump. He could therefore consolidate his advance in the race to the nomination. On the Democrats side, Hillary Clinton must solidify her support in the southern states. Because democrats allocate their delegates proportionally, the vote breakdown will be crucial for both Clinton and Sanders.

In Canada, we will be keeping a close eye on December’s GDP figures, expected to have held steady at 0.0%. A downside surprise could mark the end of the almost systematic gains the CAD has made against its counterparts over the past two weeks. Happy Super Tuesday!
