The foreign policy which President-elect will delineate will be different than that of his predecessor, president Obama, if we are to believe his declarations before the elections. He sees Obama’s policy as appeasing and weak, which created an atmosphere in which ISIS can rise, Russia invade Ukraine undisturbed and thousands of people are killed in Syria almost on a daily basis.
The question is – what can Trump do? Well, one of the things he promised to do once elected is to cancel the Iranian nuclear deal. If indeed he will proceed with that, remains to be seen and could have major effects on the entire middle east, and bring about political and financial changes across the world.
On the other hand, President-elect Trump often spoke about warming the relations with Russia, a country which is sunk in deep economic crisis for quite some time. Getting closer to Moscow can help The Russian President Putin and his administration to climb out of this ongoing crisis, strengthen the Ruble and effect the Oil market, which Russia is deeply involved in.
It seems that if Trump will keep even a few of the promises he made during the elections, it won’t be long before we see a completely different world in front of our eyes – both politically and economically.
