The Italian Senate will vote on the expulsion of Silvio Berlusconi. It should not threaten the support to the Italian government, though. Italy's Interior Minister and Deputy Premier Angelino Alfano has formed a new party called New Centre-Right, which is holding its first party convention in Rome. Alfano formed his party because of the political situation and internal strife within Forza Italia. If anything, the split of Berlusconi's party appears to have strengthened Letta's government, which is now assured a majority in the Senate whether or not Berlusconi chooses to withdraw support for the government.
