Market movers today
The main release is US existing home sales, which could give further evidence of the effect on housing from the rise in mortgage rates.
ECB's Coeure speaks and he is likely to be asked about ECB's Comprehensive Assessment of banks' balance sheets including the Asset Quality Review. The topic may be in focus after the ECB in an emailed statement Friday afternoon said it will hold a press briefing on 23 October about the assessment.
The rest of the week has a number of interesting data releases. The US employment report for September due on Tuesday is expected to be decent. Euro area flash PMIs should continue to increase, thereby confirming the brighter economic outlook within Europe. Chinese flash HSBC manufacturing PMI is also expected to have improved slightly. Finally, UK GDP growth in Q3 should be strong.
No important releases in the Scandi sphere today. On Thursday both Riksbanken and Norges Bank are expected to keep their interest rates unchanged.
