Market movers today
Focus will continue on developments in Ukraine where turmoil has spread and turned more deadly over the weekend. Markets in both the UK and Japan are closed for bank holidays today.
Euro area finance ministers are expected to formally approve Portugal's "clean" exit from its bail-out programme in connection with today's euro group meeting. The EU Commission is also scheduled to release its spring economic forecast today and the 1.2% GDP forecast for 2014 could be revised slightly higher.
In the US, attention today will mainly be on non-manufacturing ISM for April. After only a modest rebound in March, the non-manufacturing ISM probably continued to edge higher in April, largely reflecting normalisation on the back of weather-related weakness in the previous months.
In Scandinavia, main releases today are the credit indicator in Norway, industrial and service production in Sweden.
