Market movers today
The crude oil price and lower inflation are expected to be the main focus. In the UK headline inflation is expected to have eased further in November to 0.7% y/y from 1.0% y/y, mainly on the back of lower gasoline prices.
In the euro area the only notable release is industrial production for November in Italy. So far Germany and Spain have reported weaker-than-expected industrial production for November, which suggests there could be some downside to Italy's.
ECB executive board member Ewald Nowotny will speak at 18:00 CET but he will probably not have anything new to add. At 20:30 CET Bank of Spain governor Luis Maria Linde will speak in Madrid. Finally, Fed's super dove Narayana Kocherlakota (non-voter, dovish) will speak at 23:00 CET and he will probably continue to argue against an interest rate hike in 2015 in light of the recent decline in headline inflation.
Inflation and real household consumption in Sweden are also due for release.
