Market movers today
Final Euro CPI data should confirm that core inflation fell to 0.7% y/y in April, but more details will be revealed with today's release.
In the US, housing starts and industrial production are due out, but they are not likely to move markets unless we see a big deviation from consensus. Housing starts are expected to fall 0.7% m/m whereas consensus looks for a rise in industrial production of 0.6% m/m.
China's top economic adviser, Vice Premier Liu He, yesterday arrived in Washington for further trade talks. He will stay until Saturday. See Flash Comment: US-China trade talks: staying on the negotiation path , 8 May 2018.
In Sweden, it is time for the Valueguard house price data. Earlier this morning, the Maklarstatistik showed that Swedish apartment prices dropped 1% m/m while house prices were flat in April. In central Stockholm, apartment prices were unchanged on the month. See page 2 for further comment.
