We have a very light data calendar today with no scheduled data releases, which could potentially move markets.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande and Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi are due to meet on Ventotene Island, Italy, for talks on the European Union, economic growth, migration and Brexit. A news conference is scheduled for 18:00 CET.
During the week, focus will be on the annual Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium from Thursday to Saturday, with Fed Chair Janet Yellen due to speak on Friday.
In terms of data releases, the monthly preliminary PMIs for Japan, the US and Europe (France, Germany and the euro area) ones are due out tomorrow.
In Scandinavia, focus this week will be on the oil investment survey in Norway on Wednesday, while Thursday is set to bring a series of data releases in Sweden, including business and consumer confidence and the labour force survey.
