Hours (SEPH) which surveys establishments (as,opposed to the Labour Force survey, which surveys, households), showed that Canada gained 13,500,jobs in April. That compares with the 66,600,increase in paid jobs in the month's LFS. While the,SEPH showed much better employment than the,LFS's paid component in 2011, this year seems to,be quite the opposite. Over the first four months of,2012, the LFS paid component shows 154,000 jobs, being created (versus 56,000 for the same period, last year). The SEPH, however, shows roughly,36,000 jobs created over the first four months this, year, not far from the pace seen over that period, last year.
