Ampio Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NYSE:AMPE) has really been popping of late. On Thursday, it was up another 57 cents, or 16%, to 4.19, on 3.55 million shares traded, and looks like it may be accelerating. But it’s always dangerous when a low-priced stock is five waves up and at resistance. It looks like it’s at the top of the channel. I would like to see a pullback-retest, maybe at the 3-dollar range, or something in the 3 1/2-consolidation zone would be nice for a pop, and eventually take it to 6.00 and 7.00.
GAIN Capital Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:GCAP) exploded 2.05, or 26%, to 9.85, on 11 million shares traded on Thursday. After coming out of a falling wedge, it popped, pulled back, and then it ripped. I think the key is that when it took out the 8-dollar range it went non-stop to 10 on Thursday. After hours it was trading up in the 11-range. My next target is up near 12.
Helios and Matheson Analytics Inc. (NASDAQ:HMNY) took off at the end of the day on Thursday, jumping 1.51, or 28%, to 6.90, on 16 million shares traded. In the morning, it popped and pulled back, and at around noon it was trading at 5.75 and went non-stop to 7.00. In after hours it reached to 7.24, pulled back and held. I’m looking for a test of the declining topsline that comes in at about 8 3/4, and if it gets through that, I think it will be a 10-dollar stock.
Energous Corporation (NASDAQ:WATT) has been a real monster these last couple days, and on Thursday, it was up another 7.87, or 33%, to 31.57, on over 44 million shares traded. On Wednesday, the huge news exploded it and it closed well. It gaped again and pulled back at Thursday’s opening, ran up to 33 1/2, coiled, and extended. I’m looking for 37 and 40 as my next targets, and it may get there as early as Friday.
