Accenture plc (NYSE:ACN) reported second-quarter fiscal 2019 (ended Feb 28, 2019) earnings per share of $1.73 beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.57. Earnings also increased 9.5% on a year-over-year basis.

How Was the Estimate Revision Trend?

Investors should note that the Zacks Consensus Estimate for Accenture’s second-quarter fiscal 2019 earnings remained stable over the last 90 days.

The company has an impressive earnings history having outperformed the Zacks Consensus Estimate in all of the last four quarters with an average beat of 4.6%.

Revenues Better Than Expected

Accenture recorded revenues of $10.45 billion which outperformed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $10.28 billion. Moreover, revenues compared favorably with the year-ago figure of $10.06 billion.

Key Stats to Note: Accenture updated its guidance for fiscal 2019. Revenues are expected to register 6.5-8.5% growth in terms of local currency compared with 6-8% growth rate as expected previously. EPS is expected in the range to $7.18 - $7.32 compared with 7.01-$7.25 as guided earlier
