Lira nearly 3 months at a steady price with accounts bearing interest at over 40% p.a ,, not a bad deal ,, if they are able to maintain this calm environment for another few months i think many Turks will switch their dollar hoardings to lira to benefit from the high yield ,,and the dollarisation storm will ease

This is a temporary solution for a temporary period. I think the impact will come up after December 2024. First the BIST stock exchange will head up in July and August and $€ will be stable , then opposite will occur after September.

A finance minister who only announces austerity measures from the third quarter of 2024, with inflation kept artificially low and where you cannot get 500 grams of minced meat for 200 tl of the country's highest currency, will not make any progress without currency devaluation. Everything is becoming more and more expensive even though the dollar is on hold

Massive government support purchases are keeping the dollar at this level. From May onwards, energy costs will rise, which will have a negative impact on inflation. A dollar/TL exchange rate of $42 is expected at the end of the year. A gradual declaration of bankruptcy by a country can be expected here

The government inflation data is manipulated and determined by the government. The real inflation data can be seen by anyone who pays for any goods, services and rents in Turkey

The current account has been improving over the last 6 months, but it's not enough to stabilise the lira yet,, they need to take brave actions like taxing non-essential imports heavily ( forget WTO rules, save your economy),,give better incentives to exporters to convert their fx into Liras,, they also need to be innovative,, encourage things like 1 day a week no driving / cycling etc. that will save alot of fuel ( being the largest import and drain on forex ) whilst improving the environment etc. Inject more money on the now struggling tourism sectors,,, But knowing politicians are just lazy and love anything that brings them tax and duties they will take all ideas like this and straight to the rubbish bin,,

One other EXTREMELY important financial point , the central bank should work to bring spreads on usdtry lower again,,, they were foolish by thinking high spreads will discourage trading and hence volatility, that just stopped people / companies buying liras altogether and slept on dollars,,, many Turkish citizens ( and companies ) used to trade in usdtry when spreads were lower, that helped usdtry go down as well as up,,, now its just STRAIGHT UP,,, the most stable currencies in the wolrd are the ones that are most liquid, and to be more liquid you need lower spreads,,, I'm giving these govt officials free and useful advise, but as I said above, i think i know where it will end up !
