Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Construction, Basic Resources and Media sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.14% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index added 0.45%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (XETRA:LHAG), which rose 4.82% or 0.690 points to trade at 15.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (XETRA:TKAG) added 2.55% or 0.530 points to end at 21.275 and K & S AG NA O.N. (XETRA:SDFGN) was up 2.34% or 0.580 points to 25.400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SAP AG O.N. (XETRA:SAPG), which fell 4.59% or 2.640 points to trade at 54.870 at the close. Henkel AG & Co Kgaa Vzo (XETRA:HNKG_p) declined 0.88% or 0.850 points to end at 95.700 and Adidas AG NA O.N. (XETRA:ADSGN) was down 0.71% or 0.420 points to 58.390.
The top performers on the MDAX were Osram Licht (XETRA:OSRn) which rose 4.33% to 38.851, Rheinmetall AG (XETRA:RHMG) which was up 2.73% to settle at 39.195 and RTL Group SA (XETRA:RRTL) which gained 2.47% to close at 83.070.
The worst performers were Wincor Nixdorf O.N. (XETRA:WING) which was down 7.18% to 37.870 in late trade, Metro AG ST O.N. (XETRA:MEOG) which lost 1.68% to settle at 26.930 and Tag Immobilien AG (XETRA:TEGG) which was down 1.08% to 10.950 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Bechtle AG O.N. (XETRA:BC8G) which rose 2.53% to 73.000, Adva Optical Networking SE (XETRA:ADAG) which was up 2.49% to settle at 2.880 and Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (XETRA:DRWG_p) which gained 2.16% to close at 80.990.
The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (XETRA:NEKG) which was down 3.65% to 84.310 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (XETRA:AFXG) which lost 3.31% to settle at 22.750 and Jenoptik AG O.N. (XETRA:JENG) which was down 3.02% to 10.770 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 432 to 287 and 31 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bechtle AG O.N. (XETRA:BC8G) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.53% or 1.800 to 73.000.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 22.85.
Gold for February delivery was up 1.50% or 19.20 to $1296.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude Oil for delivery in March fell 3.95% or 1.94 to hit $47.19 a barrel, while the March Brent Oil contract fell 0.91% or 0.45 to trade at $48.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.37% to 1.1561, while EUR/GBP fell 0.72% to 0.7624.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.40% at 93.22.
