Investing.com – Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Property, Holding Firms and Mining & Oil sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 1.02%.

The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG), which rose 5.30% or 0.240 points to trade at 4.770 at the close. Meanwhile, LT Group Inc (PS:LTG) added 3.60% or 0.540 points to end at 15.560 and Ayala Land Inc (PS:ALI) was up 2.85% or 1.150 points to 41.550 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were International Container Terminal Services Inc (PS:ICT), which fell 1.15% or 1.200 points to trade at 103.000 at the close. Emperador Inc (PS:EMP) declined 0.37% or 0.030 points to end at 8.100 and San Miguel Corp (PS:SMC) was down 0.29% or 0.30 points to 103.00.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 125 to 85 and 42 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.27% or 3.27 to $1217.97 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.93% or 0.87 to hit $45.91 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.66% or 0.79 to trade at $48.31 a barrel.

CNY/PHP was up 0.40% to 7.4619, while USD/PHP rose 0.19% to 50.640.

The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 95.49.
