Analysts had expected EPS of $5.39 on revenue of $3.02 billion.
The firm's second-quarter assets under management rose 16% year over year to $5.689 trillion, topping analyst expectations.
BlackRock shares gained 0.11% to close at $438.34 on Friday after hitting a record intra-day high of $442.83.
