Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Sunday, as gains in the Real Estate & Construction, Telecoms and Banking sectors led shares higher while losses in the Consumer Staples, Insurance and Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 1.67% to hit a new 1-month high, while the ADX General index lost 1.09%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO), which rose 10.50% or 0.096 points to trade at 1.010 at the close. Meanwhile, Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) added 7.55% or 0.08 points to end at 1.14 and Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) was up 4.39% or 0.050 points to 1.190 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were DXB Entertainments (P.J.S.C.) (DU:DXBE), which fell 8.16% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.350 at the close. SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) declined 6.67% or 0.100 points to end at 1.400 and Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) was down 2.36% or 0.060 points to 2.480.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which rose 9.06% to 2.890, Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was up 2.60% to settle at 0.790 and Natl Bk Of Rak (AD:RAKB) which gained 2.04% to close at 5.00.
The worst performers were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which was down 9.88% to 1.55 in late trade, Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which lost 8.11% to settle at 0.340 and Emirates Telec (AD:ETEL) which was down 3.49% to 18.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 26 to 8 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 11 rose and 10 declined, while 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 10.50% or 0.096 to 1.010.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.23% or 0.63 to $51.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.91% or 0.49 to hit $54.43 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.82% or 9.60 to trade at $1179.00 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.10% to 3.9195.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.27% at 100.75.
