Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrial Metals & Mining, Forestry & Paper and Mobile Telecommunications sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 declined 1.20%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Burberry Group PLC (LON:BRBY), which rose 3.68% or 64.50 points to trade at 1819.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Royal Mail PLC (LON:RMG) added 3.35% or 10.60 points to end at 327.50 and Travis Perkins PLC (LON:TPK) was up 2.51% or 26.50 points to 1083.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES), which fell 12.07% or 110.20 points to trade at 802.40 at the close. Centrica PLC (LON:CNA) declined 9.23% or 13.45 points to end at 132.30 and Imperial Brands PLC (LON:IMB) was down 4.58% or 118.00 points to 2456.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1235 to 768 and 312 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $1228.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.46% or 0.80 to hit $53.83 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.32% or 0.84 to trade at $62.64 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.79% to 1.2878, while EUR/GBP fell 0.58% to 0.8857.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 96.380.
